The Students Are Not Okay: What Can We Learn About Psychological Challenges Mirrored in the EUROSTUDENT Data?

Student well-being across Europe is under sustained pressure. Drawing on EUROSTUDENT’s comparative data across the European Higher Education Area, this presentation examines how financial strain, housing stress, social isolation, and study-related demands are shaping students‘ mental health, alongside the resources — such as peer belonging and teaching quality — that help mitigate these effects. The presentation will also touch on which student groups are most affected, and what this might mean for how institutions think about student services. The session offers a data-informed foundation for discussion among student affairs professionals. The session offers a data-informed foundation for discussion among student affairs professionals.
