„ACT for Health“ – a model of group training for students

“Act for Health” is a training programme tailored to students’ needs and designed to prevent mental health problems. Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a well-evaluated form of psychotherapy, it aims to strengthen psychological flexibility. Students learn practical skills for dealing with stressful situations, thoughts and feelings, and for applying these skills in everyday life in ways that are aligned with their personal values. In this way, the programme supports the management of psychological stress and may have a positive impact on well-being, self-regulation, performance and stress perception. The workshop will present the “Act for Health” training programme as well as findings from the accompanying study. The training has been offered regularly since 2023 by Schleswig-Holstein Student Services in cooperation with the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein.
