Prof Dr Witold Pawłowski
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at Łódź University of Technology
Dr hab. inż. Witold Pawłowski graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUL in 1990 and has been affiliated with the university ever since, earning his doctoral degree in 1999 and his postdoctoral degree (doktor habilitowany) in 2011. Since 2016, he has served as Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, overseeing the implementation of major regulatory reforms under Poland’s Act 2.0 — Law on Higher Education and Science.
His research focuses on the construction and operation of manufacturing machines, particularly the dynamics of machine tools and machining processes. He is notably the developer of an original method of vibratory grinding. With over 60 published papers, two patents, and participation in twelve research projects — including several EU grants — he has an extensive record of academic and applied research.
He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Machine Tools and Tools Scientific Society and the Scientific Society of Łódź, and serves on the editorial board of the scientific journal MECHANIK.
